PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid sucking method for correcting an error in volume in a sucking process, in regard to the estimation on the amount of sucked-in sample used in an analyzer for diagnosis. SOLUTION: This liquid sucking method includes a process for providing a sucking probe equipped with a probe end and a piston pump, a process for measuring an initial gas pressure in the probe end before the end gets in a liquid to be sucked in, a process for disposing a certain volume of gas between an upper part of the liquid and a piston with the probe end put in the liquid, a process for moving the piston by a prescribed distance corresponding to a selected volume of the liquid to be sucked in, a process for measuring a gas pressure in a certain volume of gas when the piston stops its movement and a column of the liquid pulled up to within the probe end comes to equilibrium, a process for finding a piston volume produced by the piston movement, and a process for finding a sucked in liquid volume by an equation : the volume of sucked-in liquid = piston volume - ((P<SB>initial</SB>- P<SB>final</SB>)×Volume/unit pressure).
