PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily prepare a safety program, and to attain authentication procedures to the safety program. SOLUTION: In a step 435, the slot selection lamp of an I/O module connected to the next slot is turned on, and a user is informed that the ID number of the module should be input, and the ID number of the I/O module is input. In a step 440, the confirming operation of the I/O module is accepted. In the next step 445, when the ID number input from the user is matched with the ID number owned by the actual I/O module, the slot selection lamp of the module is turned off, and the processing is shifted to a step 450, and in the other case, the error lamp of the module is turned on, and the processing is shifted to a step 490.
