PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coated optical fiber and an optical fiber tape unit and an optical fiber cable using the optical fiber which facilitates a work of separating each by each a single coated fiber from a tape type coated optical fiber and a work of treating ends upon splicing. SOLUTION: The coated optical fiber 6 is produced by coating a primary coated color optical fiber with the outer diameter of 0.24 to 0.26 mm having a color layer 4 as the outermost layer comprising a colored UV-curing resin, with an overcoat 5 comprising a UV-curing resin to give an outer diameter of 0.4 mm or more, wherein the Young's modulus Yc of the color layer 4 and the Young's modulus Yo of the overcoat layer 5 satisfy a relation of 5<Yc/Yo<12, and the overcoat material of the overcoat layer 5 contains a non-crosslinking component by 10 to 15 wt.% in which a non-reactive silicone compound is included at least by 1 wt.%.
