The proposed device for shear tests of ground in field conditions contains a punch, a rod for transmitting load to the punch, an impeller with a unit for rotating the impeller, and a measuring unit. To load the punch, a hydraulic jack is used. The thickness (h) and the diameter (D) of the impeller are determined according to the relationship h ? 0,2D.
