<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an on-vehicle device for preventing over discharge of a battery caused by power consumption for downloading. <P>SOLUTION: When a download server 216 on a wireless LAN 22 is detected in an ON state of an engine of an automobile, an on-vehicle system 1 accesses the download server 216 (S400-S404). When an audio file to be downloaded exists (S406, S408), a warning not to turn off a power source during downloading is given to a user (S450). The user who has instructed execution of the download (S470) waits for the download to be completed without turning off an accessory power source or the engine according to the warning. The on-vehicle system 1 downloads the audio file from the download server 216 according to the instruction (S410-414, S452-456).
