PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide photographic processing techniques to shorten waiting time upon processing the first sheet of a photosensitive material until outputting the sheet. SOLUTION: Processing tanks 33A to 33C in a cleaning unit 33 are connected to one another through an aperture 680 in a lower part corresponding to the deep portion of a process liquid. The aperture 680 is closed by a cylindrical support member 681 and a pair of elastic blades 682 each tip end of which is brought into close contact with each other by elastic pressing force. Ultrasonic vibrator arrays 801, 802 emit ultrasonic waves from the open side of the blades 682 to the tip end. The ultrasonic waves are multi-reflected by the blades 682 and converged and amplified toward the tip end. When a photographic paper sheet R2 pushes aside the top ends of the blades 682 and passes, the sheet is wiped by the tip ends and at the same time, is exposed to the amplified ultrasonic waves, which accelerates replacement of the process liquid depositing or permeating the sheet paper.
