PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video signal transmitter and a video signal receiver which can reduce the labor and time needed for installing a system. SOLUTION: Video signal transmitters 5 to 7 are equipped with video signal generation means for generating video signals expressing the brightness of images photographed by cameras 2 to 4 by the gray level of one of three primary colors. The video signal receiver 8 is provided with a video signal separation means for separating one color component from the video signal in which a plurality of brightness images are expressed respectively by the gray level of colors different from one another among the three primary colors and displays any of the images photographed by the cameras 2 to 4 on a display device 9.
