PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lever type connector which can be used also as connector without a lever and in which housings can be locked in coupling even in a state without a lever. SOLUTION: In either case of housings 10, 40 being coupled in a state that a lever 30 is fitted in a first housing 1 or both housings being coupled in a state that a lever is removed from the first house 1, both housings 10, 40 are locked in coupling by locking of a lock arm 18 and a lock part 44. In a state of both housings being coupled with a lever 30, the lock arm 18 is released form the lock part 44 by a lock releasing means (a projected part 20 for releasing and a recess part 34 for releasing) if the lever 30 is shifted from a coupling position to a waiting position.
