PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily manage files including a video file even when the number of files to be managed is increased. SOLUTION: A first unrecorded region is present in the video file, it is managed by a file entry (FE) including a first allocation descriptor and a file identifier descriptor (FID), and the FID has the descriptor tag set to 257 and indicates the recording position of the corresponding file entry (FE). A second unrecorded region being not allocated on the information recording medium is present, it is managed by a space table, and this space table has a second allocation descriptor.
