PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adjust elastic force of a coil spring in accordance with magnitude of set hydraulic pressure by using a mechanical counter to improve reliability of an operation frequency display unit for displaying the number of times of operation of a hydraulic cylinder used in driving a moved object such as a metal mold. SOLUTION: This hydraulic cylinder with the operation frequency display unit comprises the mechanical counter having a mechanical mechanism for increasing the number by one every reciprocating motion by a prescribed angle of a shaft, and a counter lever mounted orthogonally to the shaft, a counter lever driving means having a rod to which the hydraulic cylinder is attached and reciprocating the counter lever by hydraulic pressure of the hydraulic cylinder, and the coil spring acting as elastic resistance in going-motion of the rod and providing the rod with returning-motion. As the elastic force of the coil spring can be adjusted, and the elastic force of the coil spring can be adjusted in accordance with operational hydraulic pressure of the hydraulic cylinder by using the mechanical counter of high reliability, the number of time of operation of the hydraulic cylinder can be surely displayed.
