PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-locking nut having a structure capable of surely and firmly locking a bolt and a nut, and suitable for mass-production. SOLUTION: This self-locking nut includes a fastening nut having a taper face on a part of its outer peripheral face, and vertically divided by a slit longitudinally formed from an axial one end to the other end, and a ring-shaped member for reducing the diameter of the fastening nut in cooperation with the taper face of the fastening nut, and the inner peripheral face of the fastening nut is closely kept into contact with the bolt by reduction in diameter, thus a thread groove is eliminated, and the return of the screw is prevented to lock the screw.
