PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an atmospheric pressure detection device for an internal combustion engine capable of accurately detecting (estimating) atmospheric pressure without using a dedicated sensor. SOLUTION: In a structure estimating atmospheric pressure based on at least opening area of an exhaust system and intake air flow rate of an engine (S1-S10), atmospheric pressure is not estimated when the opening area is an upper limit area or greater (S3).
