摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel injection device 1 for an internal combustion engine capable of controlling boosting operation of a booster 3 and injection operation of a nozzle 4 by a control valve 5 driven by one actuator and of preventing the degree of freedom in control from being lowered due to employment of one actuator. SOLUTION: A control chamber 11 of a booster 3 is connected with a change-over port 40 of a control valve 5 by a fuel passage 15 having a check valve 17 and a fuel passage 16 having a hydraulic valve 18. In the hydraulic valve 18, a restrictor 49 is provided in a pressure introducing passage 48 to cause delay in timing for switching from valve closing mode to valve opening mode when the control valve 5 is switched from oil pressure supply mode to oil pressure opening mode. Consequently, the delay is caused in operation (boosting start time) of the booster 3 for indirectly controlling fuel pressure in the control chamber 11 through the hydraulic valve 18 with respect to the operation of the nozzle 4 for directly controlling fuel pressure in a back pressure chamber 26 by the control valve 5.
