A channel conversion/management method and a broadcasting receiver are provided to allow a user to select all or a part of types of various programs, compose a channel group as channels for broadcasting a program of the type selected by the user, and perform channel conversion between channels in the channel group. A user interface unit(104) provides an interface with a user. A memory unit(102) stores a channel group composed as channels for a part or all of various program types according to the selection of the user. A control unit(100) allows the user to select a program type through the user interface unit(104), composes a channel group as channels for broadcasting a program of the selected type, and stores the composed channel group in the memory unit(102). If channel conversion is requested through the user interface unit(104), the control unit(100) performs channel conversion between channels in the channel group. |
