<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contents providing method and apparatus and a program which accurately and effectively sell contents and manage the audience using a sales managing table and a contract managing table. <P>SOLUTION: Sales periods of individual contents are registered on a sales managing table. Upon receipt of a contents buying request from a user apparatus, contents to be sold or given for audience are distributed to the user terminal, if possible to sell, based on the sales period on the sales managing table, and a user's ID; a contents ID and an audience contract period are registered on a contract managing table.
