This invention is directed to pulmonary surfactants comprising additives for improving their surface tension lowering properties, and to the use of additives for improving the properties of modified natural surfactants or reconstituted/artifcial surfactants. More particularly this invention is directed to the use of polymyxins for increasing the resistance to inactivation of modified natural surfactants or reconstituted/artificial surfactants and/or increasing their activity.
