The method of operating an offshore wind energy park involves detecting a deterioration in the power grid (10) or a signal to allow preparation of the operation of a transfer grid (11). An emergency power source, such as a Diesel generator is placed into operation (15) and its output is stepped up using transformers (25-29) to the power level produced by the park. The regulated input can be provided via a current limiter. Claims include a wind power park using the method.
