摘要 A plasma display device and a driving method thereof are provided to reduce chip manufacturing cost by removing a sustain driving board, and to minimize an EMI(Electro-Magnetic Interference) and to reduce power consumption by stabilizing an initial sustain discharge to secure a discharge margin. A plasma display device includes a PDP(Plasma Display Panel) and a driving circuit. The PDP includes plural first and second electrodes and plural third electrodes crossing the first and second electrodes. The driving circuit divides one frame into plural sub-fields. During a sustain period of at least one sub-field, a first voltage is applied on the first electrodes. The driving circuit alternately applies a sustain pulse having second and third voltages on the second electrodes. The second voltage is higher than the first voltage, while the third voltage is lower than the first voltage. The driving circuit applies a fourth voltage to the third electrodes during a portion of an applying period of the sustain discharge pulse having the second voltage during a first period. The driving circuit applies a fifth voltage to the third electrodes during a portion of the applying period of the sustain discharge pulse having the third voltage during a second period.
