An ion water purifier which prevents the user from receiving non-desired water although a user makes a mistake when operating the ion water purifier, and a control method of the ion water purifier are provided. An ion water purifier comprises: a filter part for filtering raw water; an electrolyzer(30) for electrolyzing filtered purified water to generate acidic water and alkaline water; an outflow pipe connected to the electrolyzer; a plurality of water discharge pipes(74,75) branched off from the outflow pipe; a multi-directional valve(40) installed on a part from which the water discharge pipes are branched off; and a control part for controlling the multi-directional valve so that the product water is discharged through a designated water discharge pipe of the plurality of water discharge pipes according to type of a product water passing through the electrolyzer. |
