The device has light sources (2, 4, 6) e.g. light emitting diode (LED), supplied with supply currents from control interfaces (8, 10, 12), which are controlled by a microcontroller (1). The microcontroller transmits a pulse width modulation type control signal (20) to the control interfaces. Control correctors (14, 16) are constituted by resistors and modulate the currents in the light sources according to required luminance.
