<p>The process involves defining a selection of image points of images of a subterranean formation, and realizing a depth migration before Kirchhoff type summation for the selection. A local slope of a seismic event related to reflexions impacting a geological interface of the formation is found, for the point. A specular seismic source/receiver pair (S3, R3) associated with the point, is found by comparing the slope with parameters of rays. An independent claim is also included for an application of specular seismic source/receiver pairs determination to update a model of distributing propagation speeds of seismic waves in a subterranean zone.</p> |
