<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control the scroll of a content displayed on electronic equipment while freely changing the scroll speed by setting the scroll speed in accordance with the position of the content. <P>SOLUTION: The equipment comprises a key event processing part 13 detecting depression/release of a scroll key and generating an event and a timer event processing part 14 starting a timer generating an event after the lapse of a predetermined time. When an event by key depression is generated, the area between a display start position at that time and a scroll-directional end position of display data is divided to a plurality of areas, and the timer is started while setting a scroll speed in each divided area.
