PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a camera with less release time lag and high snapshot ability. SOLUTION: A hybrid AF camera having two kinds of focusing means, such as an external range-finding system and TV-AF, is constituted to decide focusing by tempering with a diaphragm value (f-number), when photographing, so that the release time lag is lessened by photographing, by only the external range-finding system or focusing operation at rough focusing reference, according to the photographic circumstances.
