However, the assistance measures are suppressed and the driver is informed of this when it is identified that a substantial proportion (ß) of the detection range (100) of the sensor arrangement (110) is covered by the shadow of an object (20) in the lane (A) which is currently being driven in. The invention also relates to a driver-assistance system for carrying out the method.
