The invention relates to a method for isolating multipotent stem cells from dental tissue, according to which the stem cells are obtained from a tissue composite and are subsequently cultivated. The invention also relates to stem cells that have been isolated using said method and to osteocytes and neuronal cells, which have been obtained by means of said method. The invention further relates to a method for producing a bank of stem cells, according to which the cells thus obtained are stored. According to the invention, the cells of cushion-type soft tissue, which can be localised beneath the papilla on the apical side of an extracted immature tooth, are cryopreserved in a tissue composite. The tissue composite is only broken down to obtain the stem cells after being defrosted. The results indicate that stem or progenitor cells can be isolated even after the cryopreservation of the original tissue and that said stem or progenitor cells react to osteogenic stimulation. In addition, the cells react to a greater extent after cryopreservation than without the latter. |
