<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for evaluating strike through that can quantitatively evaluate strike through having been performed visually and can secure functional evaluation and sufficient correlativity, considering that the strike through of printing presents a problem in increasingly thinning printing paper. <P>SOLUTION: In the rear face of a printed section of the printing paper having been printed on a certain condition and the rear face of a blank section that has not been printed, a measured region with an area of 1600-10000 mm<SP>2</SP>is divided into square fine regions of which one side length is 0.20-3.0 mm, a projecting means radiates measuring light, a photographing means photographs the image of the reflected scattered light, Y values of all fine regions are measured based on the photographed image, a strike through evaluate index is calculated using the expression: strike through evaluation index = 100×(average of Y values on rear face of printed section)/ä(average of Y values on rear face of blank section)×(standard deviation of Y values on rear face of printed section)}, and the strike through is evaluated using the strike through evaluation index. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
