PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microstrip antenna with a simple configuration which can vary the radiation direction of radio wave beams, and efficiently change the direction of the radio wave beams. SOLUTION: The microstrip antenna is provided with a substrate, the feeding element arranged on the front surface of the substrate, the non-feeding elements arranged away from the feeding element arranged on the front surface of the substrate with only a predetermined inter-element space, and a grounding means for switching the non-feeding elements in a grounded state or in a floating state. The grounding means is a switch provided in a line for discharging high frequency waves on the non-feeding elements to a ground electrode, the line for discharging the high frequency to the ground electrode includes a through-hole and a current path inside the switch, and the length of the line for discharging the high frequency waves to the ground electrode is a length of integer multiple of a half of a wavelengthλg of the high frequency waves on a substrate when the switch is in an ON state.
