PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data compression apparatus and electronic device in which memory resources can be effectively utilized while ensuring a high compression speed of data. SOLUTION: The present invention comprises: compressors 41, 42 for compressing data before compression in a memory 3 and storing compressed data in a work area 32; first and second sequencers 46, 47 for providing, to the compressors 41, 42, a work address of the work area 32 that is a storage destination of data compressed by the compressors 41, 42, and managing the work address and a data size of the compressed data; first and second movers 43, 44 for moving the compressed data in the work area 32 to a heap area 33; and a heap pointer 45 for deriving a heap address of a move destination of this time based on the data size of the compressed data managed by the sequencers 46, 47 and a heap address provided by the heap pointer 45 to the movers 43, 44 the last time and for providing the derived heap address to the movers 43, 44.
