PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for calculating one's own vehicle position capable of accurately calculating the one's own vehicle position even when a navigation device is reset during travel. SOLUTION: The method for calculating one's own vehicle position based on a pulse signal generated according to a travel distance of the vehicle comprises a step (S103) of integrating the pulse signal and transmitting travel distance information according to the number of integrated pulses at a certain period, a step (S104) of calculating moving distance based on the difference of the transmitted travel distance information, a step (S105) of determining whether or not the moving distance is abnormal based on the motion characteristic of one's own vehicle, a step (S106) of correcting the calculated moving distance when it is abnormal, and a step (S108) of calculating and updating one's own vehicle position based on the corrected moving distance.
