PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition to be impregnated for modifying a ligneous material by the penetration of the composition deeply into the inside of a conduit, a tracheid or a medullary ray which are made of a ligneous material and by curing the composition for preserving, restoring or strengthening the ligneous material to obtain a ligneous material which is particularly excellent in crack-by-drying preventing properties and is excellent in resilience, adhesive property, waterproofing property, weatherability and yellowing resistance and in which a cohesive power is improved; deformation is suppressed; water absorption is reduced; and the generation of fungus, mold and Muscineae is prevented. SOLUTION: The above-noted problem can be solved by a composition to be impregnated for modifying a ligneous material comprising a polyesterpolyol having an average molecular weight of 400 to 1,000 and having 2 to 4 terminal hydroxy groups, an organic polysiloxane-polyoxyalkylene copolymer represented by formula (1), at least one compound curable at a normal temperature, and a solvent (wherein, R's independently represent a hydrogen atom, an unsubstituted or substituted monovalent hydrocarbon group or an acyl group; m is 0 to 5; n is 1 to 10; x is 2 to 6; y is 3 to 10; z is 0 to 10; and A represents a monovalent hydrocarbon group).
