PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method for recovering pentafluoroethane and a method for producing pentafluoroethane using the method. SOLUTION: The method for recovering pentafluoroethane comprises bringing a mixed gas composed of pentafluoroethane and a non-condensable gas into contact with a chlorine-based solvent so as to absorb pentafluoroethane contained in the mixed gas in the chlorine-based solvent.
