摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an occupant protection device capable of consistently operating an occupant protector without providing any capacitor of a large capacity while ensuring the degree of versatility of arrangement. SOLUTION: The occupant protection device comprises a control means 8 for operating occupant protectors 17-24 based on the detected values by impact sensors 10-16, and a battery 9 for supplying the power to the control means. The battery 9 is installed in a trunk room 4 which is a space backward of an engine room 2 of a vehicle body 1. The control means comprises an impact determination unit for determining the operation of the occupant protectors based on the detected signals by the impact sensors, an operational signal output unit for operating the occupant protectors based on the result of determination, and a power supply unit for supplying the power supplied from the battery 9 to the operational signal output unit. The power supply unit has a booster circuit for boosting the input voltage from the battery, and a smoothing capacitor for smoothing the output voltage of the booster circuit.
