PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydraulic device of an automatic transmission comprising an engine starting function capable of reducing costs and being miniaturized without loading a starter motor for starting an engine. SOLUTION: As a first switch state for connecting a suction port 42 of a hydraulic pump motor 30 with an electric oil pump 32 and a second switch state for connecting the suction port 42 with an oil pan 50 are switched by a pump/motor switch valve 34, the hydraulic pump motor 30 can be functioned as a hydraulic motor by the electric oil pump 32 in switching to the first switch state, thus the engine can be started. Further the hydraulic pump motor 30 can be functioned as the hydraulic pump in switching to the second switch state, thus hydraulic oil can be supplied to the automatic transmission. The starter motor used for starting the engine 10 can be eliminated, as the engine can be started only by changing the electric oil pump 32 and the pump/motor switch valve 34, thus cost reduction and miniaturization can be achieved.
