PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a throw-away tip having a high degree of freedom in design and preventing damages of a conductive pattern due to spattering chips, and also to provide a cutting tool with it. SOLUTION: This tool comprises: a holder body 10 having a pocket 11 formed on a leading end side of a shank 18; and a throw-away tip 20 detachably mounted to the pocket 11 and having a conductive pattern 21 formed on the surface. The conductive pattern 21 comprises: a belt-like sensor line formed along a cutting blade at a corner part 25; a pair of connecting areas electrically connected in contact with two connecting portions provided on the wall of the pocket 11; and a connection line electrically connecting these connecting areas with both ends of the sensor line. A plurality of conductive patterns 21 are formed on a flank 21. One of two connection lines of two out of a plurality of the conductive patterns 21 is a common connection line.
