The system includes a hollow rail profile (2) with profile strips (4,4a) at the corners. Elastic spring clamps (3), disposed on opposite corners of the rail profile, attach the rail profile under or above the mounting of a surface body e.g. a solar module. Each spring clamp has a spring arm (7) engaged with associated profile strip.
