The apparatus (1) has a parking brake part with an electric motor (2), a transmission (3) e.g. Wolfram transmission, and a spindle unit (4) arranged in series on a common axis. A form-locked clutch is provided to produce a connection between the spindle unit and the transmission. The electric motor are attached to a cover (15) having a bearing (11), such that the motor and the transmission are inserted into a shared cylindrical housing (9) as a single structural unit. A plug connector (20) of the electric motor is situated on the side of a motor/transmission spindle unit. An independent claim is also included for a method for executing an emergency braking action in a combined service and parking brake apparatus.
