The drift simulation apparatus for plant protection agents comprise a closed cabinet (2), at the top of which a nozzle (9) is mounted which delivers a spray (6) of droplets on to a defined area (7), e.g. a tray. A detector measures the amount delivered. Independent claims are included for: (A) a method for evaluating application of plant protection agents using the apparatus; (B) use of results obtained using the method to determine application rates when spraying in the open; and (C) a computer program for calculating the application rates from the rates.
