<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of efficiently manufacturing a membrane-electrode assembly in which a framework is arranged at the periphery edge of a polyelectrolyte membrane, a catalyst layer is formed inside the framework without gaps, and bending and damage are hardly caused at the catalyst layer by depression at the time of assembly of the stack. <P>SOLUTION: The manufacturing method comprises a reinforcing member installation process, in which a reinforcing member having a framework formed so as to surround the opening is installed on the polyelectrolyte membrane so as to cover at least the periphery edge of one of the face of the polyelectrolyte membrane by the framework, a catalyst layer coating process in which the catalyst layer is coated on all the face of the polyelectrolyte membrane exposed at least at the opening of the reinforcing member, and a gas diffusion layer installation process in which a gas diffusion layer is installed so as to cover the catalyst layer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
