PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recording device which can efficiently suck air bubbles, ink or a foreign substance generated in a recording head, when the device is in "initial filling", "routine purge" and "forced purge" modes. SOLUTION: A pressure roller 74 installed in the forward part of a carriage 4 and an echelon block 76 set up in a maintenance region, are arranged in positions with an ink supply tube sandwiched between the two positions. The ink supply tube 72 is not compressed by the pressure roller 74 and the echelon block 76, when a carriage 4 is located in a "first position", and is compressed upto the middle of the ink supply tube 72 by the pressure roller 74 and the echelon block 76, when the carriage 4 is located in a "second position". Further, the ink supply tube 72 is compressed to such a state that it is almost blocked by the pressure roller 74 and the echelon block 76, when the carriage 4 is located in a "third position".
