PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrict data writing in response to host equipment to be connected in a composite storage medium. SOLUTION: This composite storage device is provided with a storage medium 10 having a first data area, a nonvolatile storage medium 11 having a second data area and an identification information table integrally managing the first data area and the second data area, an information selection unit 14 selecting position information with a prescribed identification information written therein on the basis of the information table in response to a kind of host equipment; a conversion unit 15 converting the position information selected by the selection unit 14 into the position information corresponding to the first data area, or corresponding to the second data area; a first unit writing the data supplied from the host equipment 4 into the first, based on the conversion processing by the conversion unit 15; and second writing unit writing the data supplied from the host equipment into the second data area.
