PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a braille display device capable of displaying correspondence relation between braille letters and black letters. SOLUTION: A computer system functioning as the braille display device includes a ROM 308, a CPU 310, and a RAM 312. The ROM 308 includes a braille letter-black letter conversion table in which braille letter data for displaying braille letters and Indian ink letter data for displaying black letters correspond to each other. Processing that the CPU 310 performs includes the steps of: writing braille letter data and Indian ink letter data to areas 501 to 520 secured in the RAM 312 according to the braille letter-Indian ink letter conversion table; and generating data for displaying the correspondence relation between one Indian ink letter and a plurality of braille letters when the one Indian ink letter and the plurality of braille letters correspond to each other and relating the data to the corresponding areas 511 and 512 and areas 513 and 514.
