PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an opening/closing device which can detect an obstacle present on one side of an opening/closing body toward a closing terminal, can avoid an inconvenience that the opening/closing body in the vicinity of an almost totally closed region is detected by the sensor, and can detect the obstacle slipping to the one side of the opening/closing body toward the closing terminal, even if closing operation following stopping operation of the opening/closing body is carried out when the opening/closing body is present in the vicinity of the almost totally closed region. SOLUTION: According to the operation of the opening/closing device, when a detecting signal is output from a total closure vicinity detecting means, in order to avoid detection of the opening/closing body 10 by a non-contact detecting sensor that recedes together with a slide body 51, the non-contact detecting sensor is disabled over a predetermined time period, and after the lapse of the disabled time period, the non-contact detecting sensor is enabled.
