PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure for jointing a front pillar to a cowl, capable of dispersing with high efficiency a load on vehicle rearward side input into a front pillar upon a frontal collision, especially upon offset collision, while satisfying offset collision performance and pedestrian protection performance. SOLUTION: A front end of a front pillar inner panel 16 is folded to be extended along a cowl inner panel 24 and a pillar extension flange portion 16C is spot-welded to a cowl end 24A' to enhance bonding strength. An offset portion 40 is provided on the front pillar inner panel 16, to which a bracket rear end 38B of a cowl bracket 38 is jointed.
