METHOD FOR PRODUCING GEL OF COLLOIDAL CRYSTAL, GEL OF COLLOIDAL CRYSTAL AND OPTICAL DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a gel of a colloidal crystal the width of whose stop band (opaque band) is controlled. SOLUTION: The method for producing the gel of the colloidal crystal comprises the steps of: preparing a colloidal crystal containing a particle in which a solvent, a monomer, a cross-linking agent and a photopolymerization initiator are cyclically arrayed spatially; irradiating the prepared colloidal crystal with the light unsatisfying a critical irradiation condition; and holding the light-irradiated colloidal crystal. Such an expression in the problem to be solved that the width of a stop band of the gel of the colloidal crystal is controlled means that the width of the stop band of the gel of the colloidal crystal is narrowed/widened optionally.
