PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hood structure for a vehicle capable of significantly absorbing collision energy caused by an impactor by sufficiently securing a hood deformation stroke generated when the impactor crashes into the hood. SOLUTION: This hood structure for a vehicle includes: the hood 18 pivotally supported in the opening/closing direction relative to a predetermined portion 30 of the vehicle; a striker 20 mounted at the back of the hood and formed, for instance, into a shape of a convex arch below the hood when viewed from the vehicle front side; a latch mechanism arranged on the vehicle body side and engaging with the engaging portion 20B of the striker in hood closing time, as well as allowing the striker to retain the hood 18 in a rockable state in the direction of the vehicle cross section centering around the engaging portion 20B. Then, the deformation stroke of the hood 18 can be satisfactorily secured by a rocking operation of the striker 20 and a collapse of a reinforcement 28, thus absorbing the collision energy.
