PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission side driver circuit, for use in a high-speed serial communications system, that is capable of reducing the power consumption. SOLUTION: In a driver circuit which comprises first and second output terminals, connected to a pair of transmission lines for transmitting differential signals, converts data signals inputted from the outside into differential signals and outputs them to the first and second output terminals, the first output terminal is connected to a predetermined power supply voltage via a first pull-up resistor circuit and connected to a ground voltage via a first pull-down resistor circuit, and the second output terminal is connected to a power supply voltage through a second pull-up resistor circuit and is connected to a ground voltage through a second pull-down resistor circuit. The first and second pull-up resistor circuits and the first and second pull-down resistor circuits have resistance values that vary, according to the data signals. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
