PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piston ring improved in blow-by performance. SOLUTION: When a piston ring 3 is inserted into a ring groove 4 in a piston 2 outer periphery and is closed by the same equivalent diameter as a cylinder 1 internal diameter, a piston ring upper surface 5 forms an orthogonal flat surface to the cylinder 1 axial direction and a piston ring bottom surface 6 forms an inclined plane which moves upward in the upper surface side to the outer periphery, and when the piston ring bottom surface 6 contacts a ring groove bottom surface 7, a clearance is formed between the piston ring upper surface 5 and a ring groove upper surface 8.
