PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure, in a condition where accessories and a fan belt are not mounted, engine balance required when they are mounted. SOLUTION: The unbalance of an engine assembly is measured in the non-mounted condition of the accessories (1), and the engine assembly which meets predetermined conditions in the unbalanced condition at this time is determined to be acceptable and delivered as it is (8). For the engine assembly which does not meet the conditions, a simple belt is applied between two positions of a crank shaft pulley and a tension pulley (3) to reproduce tension on the crank shaft pulley during operation. Then, the engine unbalance is measured again (4), and the engine assembly which meets the predetermined conditions in the unbalanced condition at this time is determined to be acceptable and delivered (8) after the single belt is removed (7).
