PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seam felt for papermaking suppressing removal of hair of butt fibers of a flap without impairing felt properties of a seam section, and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: The seam felt for papermaking 10c comprises a wet paper-contacting butt layer 30c and a seam part 12, wherein fragments 40a of the destructed nonwoven fabric sheet located in the wet paper-contacting butt layer 30c adjacent to the seam section 12 and destructed by needle punching, are dispersed in the thickness range of the butt layer and at least a part of fibbers in the butt layer penetrate through the holes of the fragments 40a of the nonwoven fabric and set the fragments 40a of the nonwoven fabric melt by heat and adhere with the fibers of the butt layer.
