PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the printing speed of an inkjet printer with which the amount of paper feed at the rear end of a paper is made small to prevent the deterioration of the printing quality at the paper rear end. SOLUTION: The printing speed is raised with avoiding the printing at the paper rear end by inspecting printing data prior to the start of printing, and by reversing the printing data toward the paper feeding direction if the printing data exists in a predetermined area of the paper rear end and does not exist in the predetermined area of the paper front end.
